This Week I take a look at the 80s punk pop band The Woodentops, writer Joan Didion's essays on America, and Banana Yoshimoto's 80s novel "Kitchen".

I remember passages of Didion's work years after I have read it - it reverberates in my mind. And the bookstore sounds like a slice of heaven - I have always felt that books are waiting for us.

I've always felt that books are waiting for us, too---and have been proven right on more than one occasion in an almost magical way. Bookstores ARE heaven. And I obviously need to read some Banana ASAP.

Yes you do! She is the real deal. I am with you and Craig. Sometimes I get a feeling just running my finger across the spines of books- my finger just stops. It is uncanny.
